Binz is
located at the Prorer Wiek. With about 6000 inhabitants, it is the largest
Baltic Sea resort of the island of Ruegen. It was documented for the first time
in 1318 as the fishing village Byntze. The open sea adjoins in the East close to
the moorland Schmale Heide and the castle Granitz, located at the lake
Schmachter See. Noteworthy are the 1872 hours of sunshine per year as well as
the broad sandy beach and the spa architecture. The promenade is 3.2 km long.
Its attractions are the Kurhaus, the concert hall with a pavillon, the pergolas
and the pump room. Together with the sea bridge in its centre of the promenade,
these sights invite guests for a stroll.
Sellin, documented for the first time in 1295, was for many centuries part of
the estate of the Earl of Putbus. This place, also referred to as the "Pearl of
Ruegen", is surrounded by extensive beech groves. The rebuilt historic seabridge
and the ensemble of hotels and guesthouses, which carry the status as
historically protected buildings, belong to the treasure of the bath
architecture at the German Baltic Sea coast.
Baabe looks back onto 750 yeasr of history: is
was apparently documented for the first time in 1252. The place is located
simultaneously at the opening towards the peninsula Moenchgut and the secondary
road B196. The attractive bathing village with its beautiful environment and its
marvellous beaches offers a"loafing
alley“ in the style of spa architecture, a Kurpark as well as camping and summer
cottage areas.
